Customer Care
When it comes to getting a ride and paying for it, the Uber app usually works very well. But if you ever have an issue that requires the help of Uber customer service, Uber may have raised huge barriers between you and customer service that make it seem almost impossible to get real help.Uber customers can call Uber, but not all users have access to the phone number. You also can't send an email directly to a customer service email address. Instead, most customers can get help from Uber through the Help and Your Rides sections of the Uber app, help.uber.com, or Twitter. If you have a problem with a specific ride, go to "Your Trips" within the Uber app for help.
Uber drivers can call Uber through the Uber Driver app or by calling 1-800-593-7069. Go to Account> Help, then tap the phone icon in the top corner to call Uber. Many travel problems can be solved within the Driver app or by visiting help.uber.com. If your problem is not related to a specific trip, follow my instructions below to find a contact form that allows drivers to send a message to Uber.

What's the easiest and most reliable way to contact Uber customer service when you need help? The best way to contact Uber is to find a help article on help.uber.com that relates to your problem and contains a form to contact Uber by email. If you have a problem with a specific trip, look for the trip receipt within the app and search for help articles that address your problem. Read on for more details and best practices.
Uber phone number: can you call Uber customer service?
It's a frustrating fact, but Uber only provides a customer service phone number to some customers, not all. Only riders in select markets with a Premium account status can call Uber. For all other users, you should handle any support issues you have through the app or on help.uber.com.
Uber phone number for "premium riders" only: 1-800-314-2308
If you call the number above and it doesn't work, you don't have access to phone support. Read on to find out how to contact Uber
See if you can call Uber's phone number: In the Uber app, tap the Menu icon (☰), tap Help, then scroll to the bottom and search for "Call Helpdesk." If you cannot find "Call Support," telephone support is not available for your account and you will need to contact Uber using the other methods described in this article.
Once your trip is over, your driver cannot help you with any issues other than coordinating with you to retrieve a lost item. Contacting your Uber driver is not a good idea after the ride is over. They have no control over the price you paid, the fees they charged you, or the problems you have with your account.
There is a "critical safety response line" phone number hidden within the Uber app, but it is only for emergencies or serious safety complaints. You won't get any customer service for ordinary problems if you call that line. You should only use the critical security response phone number if you need security-related assistance.

Uber Eats customers can call a customer service hotline at 1-800-253-9377. Calling Uber Eats customer service is very useful if you need to modify an order that is in progress. What NOT to do to get customer service from Uber
Do not call the critical security response line. It is for emergencies only. You will not get any customer service from this number.
Do not call your driver after a trip ends unless it is a lost item.
Please do not reply to your email travel receipt. Your email will be retrieved and you will receive a message to visit help.uber.com.
Please do not try to contact Uber through an email address you found on a ride receipt or other support thread. They all recover.
As frustrating as it may sound, the only way to successfully get customer service from Uber is to use help.uber.com or the app. Trying to brute-force your way into customer support through your driver or critical security response line won't work.
How to get customer service through help.uber.com
Rather than providing a phone service, Uber has embarked on an ambitious mission to create a help article for every problem a customer might face. Help.uber.com contains a large number of help articles that cover almost every problem you can think of. Over the years, it has become an impressive resource, but due to the large number of articles and the arbitrary way it is organized, it is not always easy to find the article you need.
There is a search function that you can use to find an item without having to search through the menus. The best way to search for a help article is to use as few keywords as possible. For example, let's say you lost an item. Enter "lost", see what appears and select the best match. Don't enter a complicated phrase like "I lost something in the Uber, how do I pick it up?" Because that won't generate search results. It's not Google, so the search bar isn't very good at guessing what you want.
Once you find the article that addresses your problem, look for a contact form near the bottom. That is where you can contact customer service directly. If that article doesn't have one, try to find an article on a similar topic that does.
Quicker steps to get help from Uber
Use the help functions in the Your Trips section if you had a problem with a trip, or find a contact form on help.uber.com
Wait for an answer. Wait 24 hours
Once Uber responds, you can reply by email or by using the "Support Messages" feature in the Help section of the Uber app.
Frustrated by copy / paste responses? These are the best ways to get real answers.
Uber service representatives don't have much time to understand your situation, so just tell them exactly what they need to know to make a decision. If your message to Uber is more than a few sentences, it is probably too long.
Keep your customer service messages as short as possible
Include only essential information
Check out dates, times, amounts, specific ride numbers, and any other data that helps Uber understand your point.
Once you receive a response, you may find that the response you receive from Uber customer service is copied and pasted from a help article without addressing your specific situation. If that happens, don't give up and don't send an angry reply. Instead, reply to the message and politely say that you are still looking for an answer to your question. Then repeat your question. Sometimes it takes a few tries for Uber to directly address your issue. Don't give in to frustration. You are much less likely to get help if you start sending angry messages or add extra details that will only overwhelm the customer service representative.
How to get a refund or fare adjustment from Uber
In the Uber app, tap the menu icon (☰) in the upper left corner, then tap "Your trips." Select your trip and touch it to bring up the Trip Details menu. Scroll to the Help tab and tap "Review my rate (s)" From there, you can submit a complaint about your trip or you can request a refund in the help item "I had a different problem with my charge."
Alternatively, you can use help.uber.com to get a rate adjustment or refund. Under "Travel Issues and Refunds" you will see a map and a drop-down list. Click on the drop-down menu and find the trip in question. Support topics will appear below the fee receipt. You should be able to find a support article that addresses your problem and contains a contact form that allows you to send a message to Uber. If not, find the closest help article related to a contact form and use it to send a message.
How to recover a lost item from an Uber
If you lost an item in an Uber, you can contact your driver to see if the item is still in your car. If your driver has the item, they can arrange a time and place to retrieve the item. There is a $ 15 return item fee in some cities (more on Uber fees)
Steps to contact Uber about a lost item:
Go to help.uber.com and log in
Under "Travel Issues and Refunds", find the trip where you lost the item
Select "I lost an item."
Enter your phone number
Uber will call you and connect you with your driver
If the driver picks up his phone or responds to your phone message, you can arrange a time and place to pick up your item
If the driver does not answer or does not respond quickly, try the above steps again in a few hours
If your trip has just ended, find the text notification notifying you that your driver has arrived and call that number. They will only put you in contact with your driver if it hasn't been long since your trip ended.

How to call Uber as an Uber driver
Uber offers 24/7 phone support for Uber drivers in many markets. To call the driver phone support, open the driver app, tap your profile picture in the upper right corner of the home screen, tap Help in the top corner, then scroll to the bottom to find the Call Us button. How Drivers Can Contact Uber Within the Uber Driver App
To submit a question within the Uber driver app, tap: Account> Help> Account & payment> Change account settings> I have another account problem
You can submit a question to Uber using the Uber controller app, but in what seems like a mission to reduce the number of support messages they receive, Uber buried the forms deep within its extensive menu system.
To submit a question within the Uber driver app, tap: Account> Help> Account & payment> Change account settings> I have another account problem
Note: There are other ways to ask a question within the app!
The steps above show you how to find a contact form for general account issues, and Uber will answer any type of question you enter. But there are other ways for more specific purposes. They have built-in features that are useful for things like rate reviews and payment questions.
How to view your existing support threads with Uber driver support
Account tab> Help> Support messages
After submitting a question, you can track the support thread with Uber within the controller app. You will see all the questions you submitted through these help forms and you can read Uber's responses and update the thread with your own responses.

How drivers can contact Uber at help.uber.com
Like the controller app, help.uber.com contains a wide variety of support articles, but Uber has chosen to hide question submission forms behind menus.
Go to help.uber.com
On PC: click on "For partners" on the left
On mobile devices: tap "For partners" at the top
Under Account and Payment, click "More"
Under "Change account settings", click "I have another account problem."
You can also use the search bar to search for "I have another problem with my account."
What drivers can expect after contacting Uber
You'll receive an email when an Uber representative answers your question, and the answer will also appear in the Support Messages area of the app. The response should take between a few hours and two days. Most drivers find that Uber's response time varies quite a bit. Don't be surprised if the first answer you get doesn't directly answer your question.
If you are not satisfied with Uber's response, you can reply to Uber's email or add a response using the Support Messages area of the driver app.
Tips for getting better help from Uber support
One question at a time - Typically, Uber will only respond to one issue at a time, so loading your message with multiple issues will not be effective.
Be as brief as possible - include only the details that are absolutely essential to your problem. Many drivers submit long stories to Uber on a huge wall of text. Uber representatives have to respond quickly, so give them only what they need.
Be courteous and civil - don't let your anger show. Be courteous, but direct.
Drivers can get help in person at the Greenlight Hub offices
Uber operates in-person support offices called Greenlight Hubs in most major cities. Uber representatives in these offices will spend much more time on your problems and will have access to all the information they need to correct problems on the spot. For faster resolution and better response, visit a Greenlight Hub.
Get help in person at an Uber support office
You can find office locations at help.uber.com. Click on "For Partners", then search for "in-person help" and find the relevant article. It will usually contain the address of your local Greenlight Hub.
Trips are on demand, but customer service is not
Overall, Uber's customer service experience leaves a lot to be desired. Getting in touch with Uber is difficult to begin with, and once you do, it can take a while to get a response. Help.uber.com just keeps getting better as time goes on, so when you need to get in touch with Uber, always start there. Until Uber launches a live chat or phone service, you'll have to fight your way through endless help articles and contact forms. Good luck.
